Higher or Lower Hall — how to play

Guess whether the next card is higher or lower. Each right call grows the multiplier; collect whenever you like.

Play Higher or Lower Hall

The basics

A card is dealt from a full 52-card deck. Guess whether the next card will be higher or lower; aces are high and a card of the same rank counts as a miss. Each right guess multiplies your running total by one divided by the chance of that guess, so unlikely calls grow it faster; the first guess of a round is multiplied by 0.97 as well. Collect whenever you like; a wrong guess ends the round with nothing back. After 20 right guesses the total is collected for you.

Paytable

The multiplier for every choice is shown in the game before you play.

Fair play

Results come from your browser's Web Crypto random number generator at the moment you play; nothing about your balance, level or earlier rounds changes the odds. For members, each round is booked on our server, which checks it against the paytable limits before updating your balance. Over a very long run, about 94 to 97 Embers of every 100 played come back as wins (standard card and wheel games follow their usual maths), but short sessions vary a lot.

Every game uses Embers or demo credits only. They have no cash value and cannot be bought or exchanged. Practice or success here does not mean future success at real-money gambling. If a game ever stops mid-round, reload the page: a round is only booked when it finishes.
