Cookie policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
In short: no advertising or tracking cookies at all. Emberlowe stores only what it needs to work, and every item is listed below by its exact name. You can see and clear what is stored in this browser at the bottom of this page.
Our approach
Emberlowe uses only what it needs to work. There are no analytics, advertising or social media trackers, and no third-party requests of any kind: every file comes from emberlowe.com. Because everything we store is strictly necessary for a service you ask for, UK law (PECR) does not require consent for it, but we still tell you about each item.
Cookies
| Name | Purpose | Set when | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
__Host-qt_sess (or qt_sess without HTTPS) | Keeps you logged in and protects forms against cross-site request forgery. Secure, HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax. | You log in, register, or open a form | Until you close the browser or log out |
Device storage (localStorage)
| Key | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
qt.age | Remembers that you confirmed you are 18 or over, so the age check does not reappear on every page. | Until you clear it |
qt.notice | Remembers your answer to the cookie notice (accepted or declined), so it is not shown again. | Until you clear it |
qt.sound | Members only: remembers whether you turned game sound on. | Until you clear it |
Tab storage (sessionStorage)
| Key | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
qt.minder | Members with a play reminder: the time this tab's play started, so the reminder appears on time. | Until you close the tab |
Demo mode stores nothing
Practice credits and demo progress are never stored: they live only in the open page and vanish when you reload or leave. Playing a demo sets no cookie.
Cookie settings
This is what Emberlowe has stored in this browser right now:
- Checking…
Breaks and self-exclusions are kept on our server with your account, so clearing this browser never ends them early. To remove the login cookie, log out. You can also delete all site data in your browser's settings; if you block the session cookie you will not be able to log in, but demo mode still works.
Changes
If we ever add anything that is not strictly necessary, we will update this page and ask for your consent first. Questions? Email privacy@emberlowe.com.
