Chippy Scratch — how to play

A seaside chip shop scratchcard. Scratch nine squares and match three to win, with the vinegar bottle paying the most.

The basics

Each card has nine panels. Play a card at your stake, then scratch the panels with your finger or mouse, or tap Reveal all. If three panels show the same picture that picture sets the multiple of your stake you get back; every other card has no win. The result is fixed the moment the card is dealt, so scratching order does not matter.

Paytable

  • 3× 100× stake · 1 in 2,000 cards
  • 3× 25× stake · 1 in 500 cards
  • 3× 10× stake · 1 in 100 cards
  • 3× 5× stake · 1 in 20 cards
  • 3× 2× stake · 1 in 8 cards
  • 3× 1× stake · 1 in 4 cards

Fair play

Results come from your browser's Web Crypto random number generator at the moment you play; nothing about your balance, level or earlier rounds changes the odds. For members, each round is booked on our server, which checks it against the paytable limits before updating your balance. Over a very long run, about 94 to 97 Embers of every 100 played come back as wins (standard card and wheel games follow their usual maths), but short sessions vary a lot.

Every game uses Embers or demo credits only. They have no cash value and cannot be bought or exchanged. Practice or success here does not mean future success at real-money gambling. If a game ever stops mid-round, reload the page: a round is only booked when it finishes.
